Player Biography
Alejandro Ramírez, known to fans as “El Toro”, is one of the rising stars of Mexican baseball and a fan favorite for the Diablos Rojos del México. He grew up in the baseball-rich city of Monterrey, where he started throwing fastballs at age 9 and quickly gained attention for his natural power and fierce competitive spirit.
After dominating at the youth level, he was signed by a major league organization in the United States but returned to Mexico at 22 to play professionally in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol, where he found his true home with the Diablos. Since joining the team in 2019, Ramírez has become a key piece of the pitching rotation, known for his 96 mph fastball, wicked slider, and calm under pressure. In 2023, he led the league in strikeouts and was selected to the All-Star Game for the second year in a row.
Off the field, Alejandro is known for his quiet leadership and involvement in community baseball clinics across Mexico City. With his iconic bull tattoo and intense game-day stare, “El Toro” represents the fighting spirit of the Diablos — fearless, powerful, and always ready to charge.
His pre-game routine includes a solo bullpen session set to classic rock, followed by a silent walk around the mound — a ritual he believes keeps him focused and connected to the game. Ramírez has expressed ambitions to eventually coach young pitchers and help expand baseball's presence across northern Mexico. With several seasons still ahead of him, many believe he’s destined to become one of the modern legends of the franchise.
